Did you go to school for art?

Yes…and no! I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting from Northern Kentucky University. I’ve always enjoyed drawing, painting and writing, but I didn’t pick it up more consistently until after college.

What mediums do you use?

I try to use what I have on hand and be as sustainable as I can in my art-making practices, so a lot of supplies are up-cycled, repurposed, or materials I have on hand.

  • Watercolors

  • Colored pencils

  • Sharpie

  • Acrylic paints

  • Gouache

  • Procreate for digital art

How did you start making art?

Have you ever heard the phrase “take your broken heart and make it into art”? It went a little something like that! Circa 2015 I was going through a very tough time and bought a pad of watercolor paper on clearance. My mom handed down her own watercolors (from when she was my age!) for me to use, and my whole world opened up.

What started out as painting to fill my (very unemployed) time and as a sort of therapy has turned into a way of expression, connection and so much more. (And I still use many of my mom’s watercolors today!)

What do you do when you aren’t making art?

More art! When I’m not painting, doodling, writing poems, etc. I’m also co-manager/owner of ComedySportz Cincinnati, a local comedy improv group. If I’m not doing that, I’m usually writing or performing in plays and musicals, learning ukulele, and I teaching private acting lessons. When I’m not doing any of that, I’m probably trying to rest by watching The Great British Baking Show, eating ice cream or thinking about eating ice cream. I also have a full time job in the grocery sales world which keeps me pretty busy.

Do you do commissions?

Commissions are currently closed. I will occasionally open up commissions when my work/life schedule allows.

If you have a project or commission inquiry while commissions are closed please reach out via email or the contact form with your request, timeframe and I will let you know if I can make it work!
